Included here are the forests that characterise the humid high rainfall climatic zones found approximately 28 degrees north and south of the equator. They occur in Asia, Australia, Africa, South America, Central America, Mexico and on many of the Pacific Islands and support more species than all other biomes put together. In fact, about 80 percent of the world's biodiversity is associated with these forests.
